Wildcrafting is the practice of harvesting and using wild materials for food, construction and craft. The kinds of things people might find are mushrooms, driftwood, flowers, feathers, clay, rocks, shells, grains, saps, quills, clay, wicker, burls, seaweed, weeds, nuts, food, herbs, berries, seeds, cones, roots, bark, dye, antlers, fur, bones, leather, teeth, mosses and ferns. And, that list is just a good start. Wildcrafting is the art of using 'found' materials.
The WildCraft Forest is an Ecomuseum and interpretive forest, which includes a Wild Tea Plantation and Sculpture Trail. We're located on Highway 6 in the Monashee Region of British Columbia just on the edge of the North Okanagan, one hour from Kelowna and 30 minutes from Vernon, between Lumby and Cherryville.
We offer guided tours of our wild tea plantation. Enjoy our wildcrafted tea blends after a stoll under a natural canopy of green.
Whimsey, fun and wonder abound at the Wildcraft Forest. Under a canopy of green explore an old-growth forest mixed with wild botanicals and sculpture created by some of Canada’s finest artists.
Embark on a network of paths deep into the forest where you can discover over 25 sculptures unique to the environment. Interpretive displays that showcase wilderness, history and sacred places in a backdrop of nature and wildlife viewing make for a storytelling adventure for the whole family.
Explore counter-culture as your visit begins at our art village where you can discover galleries and studios that display original art, craft and photography inspired by nature. From here you can explore our wild tea plantation with its pocket gardens of herbs and wild plants we harvest for our wildcrafted tea blends.
Pick and brew wild teas on our Wild Tea Tour. Taste Oregon Grape, Wild Mint, Hawthorn Berry and Wild Strawberry to name a few of our blends all brewed in our own farmgate tea house.
